Google recently launched photography ‘Appsperiment ‘ program and the first installment of apps have been released. Google was inspired by ‘Motion Stills’ which is an app developed by researchers that converts short videos into cinemagraphs and time lapses using experimental stabilisation and rendering technologies.
The new three new apps are “Storyboard” (for Android only), “Selfissimo!” (for iOS and Android) and “Scrubbies” (for iOS only).
Storyboard transforms your videos into comics. It selects, lays out, and stylizes video frames using experimental research technology from Google that runs entirely on your device.
TO USE THE APP
1. Load a video.
2. Pull down to refresh till you get a layout you like.
3. Tap to share or save. That’s it!
Here’s an app that selfie enthusiasts will love. Selfissimo! is an automated selfie photographer that snaps a black and white photograph each time the user poses. Selfissimo! uses experimental research technology from Google to capture photos automatically each time you pose, encouraging you to capture your best self.
HOW THIS APP WORKS
Start a photoshoot and Selfissimo! snaps a photo each time you stop moving. Change poses or move the phone a little to retrigger. End with a tap, then save/share individual images or the entire shoot.
The app is available exclusively for iOS users. Scrubbies lets you easily manipulate the speed and direction of video playback to produce amazing video loops that highlight actions, capture funny faces, and replay moments.
A great approach by Google to encourage people who have innovative ideas. Let us know your experience in the comments.
