Jio declared that it will be extending Prime Membership of all Prime Users till March 2019. The telecom company was mum till last couple of days of March and decided to give this good news for Jio Users. The extension of Jio Prime Membership is not automatic and you need to apply to get the service extended service for one more year. The company has more than 175 Million subscribers, it is possible some customers may not see the message to extend the subscription.

Reliance Jio Prime membership extension is a limited period offer, said the operator. For those who don’t know, Jio Prime membership gives complimentary subscription to 550 plus live TV channels, 6,000 movies, lakhs of videos/TC shows, over 1.4 crore songs, 5,000 plus magazines, 500 plus newspapers, among others.

Also, if you are a new member or fail to renew Jio Prime within deadline, Jio will be charging Rs. 99 for ‘Prime membership’ for annual subscription.

The renewal process is simple, all you have to do is Open MyJio app and tap on “Get Now” button and follow the on-screen instructions.

I’m not getting “Get Now” button in MyJio app

You are probably not seeing the message to extend Prime as you are not an active Jio user despite purchasing the Rs. 99 subscription. If you don’t see the banner asking you to get service for another year, force quit the app and stream videos for 15 minutes or so using – and this is important – Jio 4G data of the number whose membership you are trying to renew. Once you’ve done that, start the MyJio app once again, and login using the same number — you should now be able to see the banner message prompting you to apply for Jio Prime membership renewal.

Now tap on “Get Now” message, and you will see a message saying the operator is extending the subscription for one full year, and the numbers registered to you below it. Simply select the number whose Prime subscription you want to extend from the list, and hit Proceed. Your subscription will get renewed in a couple of hours.
