The much awaited Notification shade and Quick Reply features has finally made its presence in MIUI 9.5 Global update. The Quick Reply feature was released way back in 2016 in Android Nougat. However, Xiaomi was left behind since they were providing their users with their own custom ROM – the MIUI 9. The new MIUI 9.5 update will be available to for users who are running Android Nougat 7.0 or above.

MIUI 9.5 Features

MIUI 9.5 update brings Quick Reply via notification shade. So, with the new Notification shade, users will be able to reply to the notification panel for any messenger like WhatsApp messages. Other new features include Split Screen, new Gallery app, Calendar Cards, new Mi Explorer, Mi Video app, Mi Drop, App Vault, and interactive and fresh UI changes. February security patch has also been added in this new MIUI update.


 Mi Community has released the information that company has started pushing MIUI for the Redmi Note 4. It should be noted that the present update which has been released is a Nightly Build. This means Xiaomi has released this update to take a review from its users and based on the response and feedback, then Xiaomi is going to release this update for all its users slowly. MIUI 9.5 stable build is expected to roll out for the most of the Xiaomi devices, however, devices running Android Nougat 7.0 or above will only get the New Notification Shade feature.

Xiaomi is expected to enable the ability to use the split screen feature on the devices running Android Marshmallow such as the Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi Note 3. Its been a long wait to see the notification shade and quick reply feature in Xiaomi devices. What’s shocking is Xiaomi took more than 18 months to add these feature. But now things are about to change.
