Vivo V9 will look like iPhone X, launching on 23 March

Vivo V9 smartphone has been listed on Vivo’s official website. The device will be launched on 23rd March. At first glance the notch on top reminds us about iPhone X. In the teaser the smartphone has stunning looks with 18:9 display aspect ratio. Lets find what Vivo V9 has to offer.

Vivo V9 Specfications

Vivo V9 will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC and 4 GB RAM out of the box. The Vivo V9 will sport an edge-to-edge display along with a vertical dual-rear camera based on other teasers shared by the company. The listing page revealed the wallpaper on the Vivo V9 looks very similar to the one used on the Apple iPhone X. The smartphone will be powered by the octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The new Vivo smartphone will have 6.3-inch full HD+ IPS display with a 2280 x 1080p resolution. It will be powered by a 3260mAh battery and launch running on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Coming to optics, Vivo V9 will have 16MP+5MP rear camera combination. The front camera will be 24MP and there will be a 3260mAh battery as well.

Vivo V9 Price

Since Vivo V9 isn’t available in any other market globally so it’s hard to predict about how much the device will cost. According to a listing of the Vivo V9 on an Indonesian e-commerce site shows the device priced at IDR 4,999,000, which approximately Rs 23,700.

Savvydroid’s Verdict

Its too early to say much about this smartphone. One key point why Vivo succeeds in India is because of aggressive offline presence. However, Vivo has been adding poor quality processors and pricing it extremely high. Consider Vivo V7+, the low end processor Snapdragon 450 has been embedded in this flagship and being sold for Rs 20K. Such strategy adopted by Vivo is unacceptable.

Hopefully this time Vivo prices it sensibly. Buy the device only if it is priced below Rs 20K.
