MWC 2018: Lava Z50 announced with Android Oreo Go

LAVA International Limited launched the Lava Z50, a budget smartphone that runs Android Oreo Go. With this launch, Lava has become the first smartphone company to officially launch Android Oreo Go smartphone. Lava says that the device will be available at over 100,000 retail stores by mid-March, 2018 in two colour options – Black and Gold.

Lava Z50 Specifications

The device fulfills the need of an entry level smartphone. It has 4.5 inch display with 2.5D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass for a scratch resistant display screen. Embedded with MediaTek MT6737P Processor coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, the new Lava Z50 is capable of running day to day tasks.

Google has assured some of the Android Go smartphones will cost under $50 (approximately Rs 3,247). This is the price point where Android Go devices will have a bigger impact.

The specifications might sound outdated, but the fact that it runs Google’s Android Oreo Go cannot be ignored. The optimised OS can even run smoothly on smartphones with less than 512 MB of RAM. Lava has designed the Z50 to facilitate search in 10 major Indian languages (including Hindi) besides enabling search for images, weather and also translate from search home screen.

Lava is also providing 2-year additional warranty, along with Rs 2,000 cashback from Airtel. Lava Z50 comes with a special launch offer of free one-time screen replacement, in case the screen breaks within 1 year from the date of purchase.
