Fast Company, a leading progressive business media brand, announced its annual ranking of the world’s 50 Most Innovative Companies (MIC) for 2018. Its a proud moment for our country as Mukesh Ambani’s Jio has been ranked 17th spot on the global list and also ranked at No. 1 position for the Most Innovative Companies in India.
With the launch of Jio couple of years back, Reliance Jio changed the dynamics of Indian telecom industry and also made India the leading country in terms of data consumption. “Since the launch of Jio, our mission has been bold yet simple: to make broadband technology affordable and accessible to every person in India,” stated Akash Ambani, Director, Reliance Jio.

For those who are unaware, global companies such as Apple, Netflix, Tencent, Amazon, Spotify, and many others are on the list. Fast Company releases a list of top 50 innovative companies every year, and the list will be curated from Fast Company’s Top 10 lists, which recognise pioneering companies across 36 categories, from artificial intelligence to wellness.
Apple secured the top spot, followed by Netflix, Square, Tencent, Amazon, and others. Jio has been put in this list for its data consumption by the customers. The average data usage by an Indian user is 3.9 GB/month and is expected to rise up to a staggering 18 GB by 2023.
