6 days are left for Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ to be revealed at MWC and here are the full leaks. Everyday some or the other leaks surface up, but here’s a glimpse of specifications of the upcoming flagship. As launch date nears, the leaks tend to pile up with near accurate predictions. Lets find out.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+

Firstly, both Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be available in more colours. They are Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, Coral Blue and Titanium Gray. The Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ will be incremental upgrades to last year’s Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. This time there will be a wide range of differences between S9 and S9+. Not only in terms of hardware, but software too.

One confirmed leak is the full screen display. Since its a trend, Samsung has decided to stay with 18:9 display aspect ratio with Infinity display. Also, fingerprint sensor will be smartly placed below the camera. Galaxy S8 series drew a lot of flak for its awkward fingerprint location as users with short hands found it difficult to reach.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will have  5.8-inch and 6.2-inch screen sizes respectively, backed by Samsung’s proprietary Super AMOLED panels. Under the hood, it will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 for US and Exynos 9810 for the global market including India. The Galaxy S9 might have 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, and S9+ with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Now comes the killer feature! The hype about optics has finally been confirmed. Samsung Galaxy S9 will have single camera setup with variable aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4. Lower the aperture, higher the light absorbing capability of the sensor, and this will be very useful for lowlight photography. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S9+ will have dual rear camera with dual OIS. The primary camera will be similar to Galaxy S9 but the secondary camera will have 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

Both the phones will come with an 8-megapixel camera on the front with f/1.7 aperture that will also allow users to take animated avatars something on the line of the iPhone X’s animoji feature.

Lastly, both devices will run Android Oreo out-of the box with Samsung Experience 9.0 on-top. Samsung has also integrated facial recognition and Iris scanning to make unlocking of device foolproof(may be). The devices are IP68 certified, this means it can withstand dust and water.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be available for pre-order as soon as it is unveiled. However, the release date has not be revealed.
