The wait is finally over as Mi TV 4 will make a footfall on 14th February. The TV announcement will be made at an event alongside the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro announcement. For those who don’t know, Xiaomi’s TV sell like hotcakes in China and now Indian consumers will benefit too.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4

Both Xiaomi and Flipkart are teasing the product on their website and social media. We don’t know the sizes and, of course, what the pricing will be like. Recently Xiaomi Mi TV 4A with 50 inch 4K UHD display was launched in China priced around CNY 2,399 (approx Rs 24K). Again, this might be released in India soon.

According to Savvydroid, Xiaomi should price it aggressively to compete with Vu and Micromax. Knowing Xiaomi and considering it waited an entire year to launch this product in India, the price is likely going to be exceptionally low for a television in its class and will likely cause some sleepless nights for the established players in the market.

The Mi TV 4 is the company’s newest smart television. Yes smart, this means it will run on Android and will be able to support streaming devices like Chromecast and Amazon Fire Stick. The model might be old as it was released last year at CES. But considering Xiaomi TV’s in India, it is something new for Indian market.

What do you feel about Mi TV 4? Is it yet another death pill for Samsung and Sony?
