Accidents do happen, and Samsung is no exception. A bunch of users in Vietnam recently received Android Oreo for their Galaxy S7 edge device. The update was obviously a mistake made by someone at the Samsung development team or related departments, who must have pushed a seemingly finished build of the update.
It’s a mistake because giving Oreo updates to Galaxy S7 edge by not giving it to Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 plus first. Moreover there was no Oreo Beta trial for S7 edge users. There are no statistics about how many users got the accidental Oreo update. But users who got sent a screenshot to the public Galaxy S7 edge group chat on Telegram.
Here’s a short video of the update. It shows a screen-recording of the S7 Edge running the Experience 9.0 skin as seen in the recent Galaxy S8 Oreo beta, with the same home screen UI, buttons, updated camera app etc.
Meanwhile Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in Germany began receiving Android 8.0 Oreo. Great news right? Let us know the experience in comments
