The power of Surface Book from Microsoft just got affordable for everyone.  Microsoft has launched new versions of Surface Laptop and Surface Book 2 with reduced specifications and more affordable prices. The original Surface Laptop used to cost around Rs. 64,000 but now the newer variants are priced significantly lower at Rs 51,160.

Similarly, Surface Book 2 base model is now priced approximately Rs 76,770. Recently Microsoft had announced that its Surface revenue had only increased a percent year-on-year in the holiday quarter. So Microsoft is now trying to introduce Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop at lower price.

Surface Book 2 Specs

The new variant has 13.5 inch display and comes with 128GB internal storage. It is powered by Intel i5 7th generation processor with 8GB RAM. There’s a 8MP rear autofocus camera sensor with 1080p full HD video recording support, meanwhile the front camera has 5MP sensor. The Surface Book 2 has dual microphones, and front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium. It also has USB 3.0 Type A and USB-Type C ports and UHS-II SDXC HD memory card. One key feature is that it supports Surface Pen.

Surface Laptop Specs

As you will pay less for the base version, Microsoft has only launched Silver colour variant of this device. The new Surface Laptop is embedded with Intel i5 (2c/4t up to 2.6 GHz) coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The display is 13.5 inch and has touchscreen support.

The Surface Laptop will run Windows 10 S while the Surface Book 2 will be running Windows 10. Both these devices get one year warranty from Microsoft. Currently, the new variants are available only in USA.
