Samsung is all set to release Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on February 29th in Barcelona. The devices will directly compete with Apple’s top flagship device the iPhone X. Here are 5 reasons why we feel Samsung Galaxy S9 series will be better than iPhone X. Grasp through this post and we assure you will agree with us.
Screen to Body ratio
Practically newer smartphones are getting smaller and Samsung Galaxy S9 sees a similar trend. But wait, this doesn’t mean screen size is shrinking. What’s happening is the screen to body ratio is booming up. iPhone X has 81.67 ratio while upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 will have a massive 89.53%.
iPhone X’s notch on top part of the screen has decreased its ratio, if Apple had omitted the notch it would have retained its position.
Killer feature ahead! The upcoming Samsung’s flagship will be having cameras with adjustable aperture. It can switch from f/1.5 for low light photography and go up-to f/2.5. Moreover Galaxy S9+ will have dual rear camera and both supporting OIS.
Both S9 and S9+ will have variable aperture. The rear camera will be able to shoot 720p slow-mo videos at 480fps. This might not be great when we compare it to Sony. But still we have to see how it competes with iPhone X. What’s interesting to know is will iPhone X’s dual camera setup be beaten by Galaxy S9’s variable aperture technology.
Haters will term Samsung as copy cat, but what if the feature is better and more secure than Face ID? Rumors suggest, Samsung will incorporate Iris scanning and Face unlock to produce even secure unlocking method.
Currently, iPhone X scans 30,000 points of a face using IR, and now Samsung will use 50,000 points. Face ID can be bypassed if you have twin sibling, but can Samsung succeed to find a solution to this?
The most sensible reason why you are here. Price of flagship smartphones are going up every year and Apple has already breached $1,000 mark. Samsung on the other hand has decided to price their devices within $1,000.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will cost at-most $875 and $975 respectively. It’s obvious that more features are being provided for the cost but pricing it sensibly should also be important.
Battery and Processor
No wonder Apple will always lead here until Samsung Galaxy S9 is released. iPhone X has 2716 mAh battery, sounds less but still it outruns most flagship these days. Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S9 will have 3,000 mAh battery and S9+ with 3,500 mAh battery.
You might be wondering why we mentioned negative feature of Samsung in anti-Apple post. The equations will change now as Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will be embedded in Galaxy S9 and S9+. This new processor has some serious AI capabilities and delivers up to 1.2 Gbps peak download speeds across a broader spectrum.
iPhone X supports a maximum of 600 Mbps. Samsung is trying to make this device future ready as 5G services are on the roll in some countries.
What do you feel about Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+? Will it steamroll iPhone X in optics? Let us know your opinion.
