Ok, so we too never heard of this concept and took us few hours to do some research on this. A concept that is very interesting and innovative, the Intelligent Scan feature might be available in upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The feature reportedly “combines face and iris scanning to improve accuracy and security even in low or very bright light.”

Courtesy XDA Forums for teardown of the most recent Settings app from unreleased Android Oreo Beta for Samsung Galaxy S8. The new feature is in works for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

What is Intelligent Scan in Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+?

The Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 have Iris scanner that can be used for biometric entry of passwords. It can be used for unlocking the device as soon as the screen turns on. But if Samsung combines it with facial recognition then it’ll hopefully be better at securing your phone. Check out the video for Graphical interpretation.
