Android Oreo Go was released in December 2017 with an aim to make Android Oreo available for entry-level smartphones. The operating system is capable of working on smartphones with only around 512 megabytes of memory. Now Micromax is all set to release India’s first Androiod Oreo Go smartphone. The device will be named as Bharat Go and has entry level specifications.
Micromax Bharat Go
The main highlight of this device is Android Go itself. The OS is lightweight and has almost all the features of standard Android Oreo. Some features include notification grouping, performance improvements and battery usage optimisation, picture-in-picture support for video, Bluetooth 5, support for auto-fillers, wide colour gamuts, Wi-Fi Aware, system-level integration with VoIP apps, among others.
The specifications have not been revealed yet but it is expected to have at least 1 GB RAM. Not only Micromax, companies like Karbonn, Intex and Lava international will also release similar smartphones based Android Oreo Go.
With Android Oreo Go in budget smartphones, the prices are also expected to fall. Earlier an entry level device used to cost Rs 3000 or more, but with Android Go you can buy the device from a starting price of Rs 2,500.
