You might own a flagship device from Samsung or LG that runs Android Nougat, it’s obvious that Companies have assured you about future Android upgrades. But where is it? Savvydroid posted a list of devices getting Android Oreo update a few days back. Today we are back with Flagship devices that will receive Android 8.0 Oreo update in next few months.
Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+: These smartphones were launched in March 2015 and it has received all major Android updates as well. There’s a rumor that these devices will get Android Oreo update next month. We can’t trust rumors so lets keep our fingers crossed.
Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge: Both these devices were running Android Marshmallow when it was launched. It even got Android Nougat update last year. This year it will also get latest Android Oreo update as well.
Galaxy Note 8 : The beta testing of this device was going on last year and only few users could participate in it. A stable release is expected to be launched soon.
Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+: These devices just finished Beta testing and by next month users are expected to the Oreo update. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ were launched last year with Android Nougat out of the box.
Moto Z2 Play : This device is also slated to receive Android Oreo soon.
There’s no official confirmation about other Moto devices yet. Stay tuned.
HTC 10: The update has already been released by HTC. Users won’t receive this update via OTA as of now. However interested users can head towards HTC forum and taste Android Oreo.
HTC U11 : HTC U11 devices in the EMEA region (Europe, Africa, and the Middle East) is already receiving Android Oreo. The update was rolled out way back in November 2017.
HTC U Ultra : HTC also said that right after its U11 gets updated to Oreo, the HTC U Ultra will be patiently waiting next in line. It’s been quite sometime since U11 got the updates.
Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia Touch and Xperia XA1 Plus : All these device have officially been confirmed to receive Android Oreo update soon.
Huawei Mate 9 : According to rumors, Oreo is slated to arrive on the Mate 9 soon, which is a pleasant surprise given that Huawei is not known for fast updates.
Huawei P10 : The beta program is already out and a stable release is expected soon.
Huawei P9 : The device already got Android Nougat update in March 2017, an Android Oreo update is doubtful anytime soon. But Huawei’s good reputation of supporting older devices makes us add this device in this list.
LG G5 : Oreo will be the last major software update to officially hit this device soon. Seeing that it received Android Nougat in mid-May 2017, its owners might have to wait some more time.
LG G6 : Asian G6 owners will be the first to receive Android Oreo 8.0 update. A global rollout should follow closely.
LG V30 : Users in the US are already receiving Android Oreo beta on their devices, which means that an official release for all users is just around the corner.
