For some time now, we’ve been hearing of a potential integration of WhatsApp with YouTube. The feature has now been rolled out to iOS users. With this new update, you can watch YouTube videos without leaving the app. It is similar to watching videos on Facebook itself. This feature was available only for beta users, but now it has been rolled out on public platform as well.

WhatsApp YouTube integration

According to WABetaInfo, the feature will only be available for users who have updated their WhatsApp to the latest version from the App Store. The new updated version will be 2.18.11 and is said to brings bug fixes and general improvements.

YouTube already supports picture in picture mode. This means you can play YouTube videos in a floating window that appears on the screen can be resized using pinch-to-zoom gesture. However users won’t be able to continue watching the video once they leave the app, or switch to any other chat.

This is probably the first time a feature has been released only for iOS users. There is official confirmation if Android users will get this update. We will notify you as soon as we get the official intimation.
