Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, the state-run telecom operator recently decided to offer 50 per cent more data and extend the validity of by 43 per cent. BSNL termed this as Happy Offer and the changes would be applicable to all unlimited plans.
Let’s see what are the changes and how you can reap the benefits. BSNL Rs 485 plan now offers 1.5 GB data per day over a period of 90 days. Similarly the Rs 666 offers 1.5 GB daily data for 129 days. BSNL is also offering unlimited local calling, STD and roaming calls.

The lower priced plans like Rs 189 and Rs 187 also got revised. Both these plans now offer 1 GB data per day for 28 days. Also, BSNL Rs 349 and Rs 429 will provide 1GB data per day for 54 days and 81 days respectively. All these plans will also offer 100 SMSs per day.
2017 was dominated mostly by Jio in the telecom sector, but this year BSNL seems to have joined the brigade. Jio recently announced more plans that offered more validity for the same price. Also, all the plans were cut by Rs 50 which means the Rs 398 plan now costs Rs 348 and offers same benefits.
More companies like Idea, Airtel and Vodafone are expected to counter Jio soon.
