There has been many recent leaks regarding the iPhone 8 which is expected to be launched this month. Not only iPhone but Samsung and Google is also gearing up to provide some tough competitions by launching their annual flagship devices. Savvydroid finds out some of the latest leaks regarding Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
After its great success last year the search engine giant is yet to launch one more flagship device. There will be two devices from Google, the Google Pixel 2 and the Google Pixel XL 2. As per the leaks, Google hasn’t done many major changes in the physical architecture of the phone except they omitted the earphone jack this time. Though they have copied this from iPhone but dropping earphone jack gives a scope for more space. More space meaning you can add more features. The rear of the phone will be full glass and a fingerprint sensor will be mounted on the upper portion. The camera will be of single lens which is quiet shocking. But its former version still clicks better snaps even with single camera. The earlier Pixel had speakers at the rear and the sound used to get blocked but now the stereo speakers will be at bottom edge. Google hasn’t even added Curved Glass in the front.
One of the biggest rumor is that this phone will not be waterproof. This may be a major jolt who have been waiting to buy this phone. The Google Pixel 2 is expected to have a 5 inch screen with a FHD resolution and the XL 2 will have 6 inch screen with a resolution of 2960×1440 pixels. Google Pixel XL 2 may have Organic LED which we see in all flagship smartphones these days including the one to be launched iPhone 8.
There have been numerous reports that Google Pixel will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 which is more efficient compared to 835 variant. But mostly it may be embedded with the 835 variant with 4GB of RAM. Internal storage will be 64GB and we aren’t sure about the expandable storage.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Samsung has totally changed the physical looks of this device. The edges are now less rounded and it has a block like shape. The Note 8 comes with Samsung’s S pen that allows you to perform actions without touching the screen. The phone looks more like a robot from the back with the addition of Dual Lens Camera. Also the screen size will be 6.3 inches with a resolution of 2960×1440 pixels.
The phone has two major advantages:
- It will have support for 3x optical zoom. This means the photos captured will be crisp and sharp.
- The super night shot is expected to significantly improve low light pictures even those clicked in dark.
Samsung is also adding pressure sensitive touch which is similar to Apple’s 3D touch. This feature needs to embraced because it allows you to perform more actions just by increasing the pressure of your fingers. The most hyped rumor about this device is embedded fingerprint sensor under display. Though its possible but not in Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Addition of this feature will take longer time for manufacturing and currently its ruled out. So Samsung has decided to mount the fingerprint underneath the home button. The phone will be water resistant with IP68 certification. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. There will be an option to expand the storage via MicroSD card. The price is expected to be around $ 900 which is definitely cheaper than iPhone 8. Samsung has always been aggressive about pricing their flagship devices. Those living in Korea, there will be an Emperor version of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 that will have 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
With launch date of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 nearing by, it’s really easy to predict the features. As far as Google Pixel 2 is concerned there has been no words from Google besides a few leaked images. The speculations may change from time to time. We will try to keep you updated.
