You might not have heard about this brand, but Infinix is expected to flutter the Indian Smartphone market after their launch of two new smartphones. The phones are priced aggressively and directly competes with Redmi Note 4 and Panasonic P85. Before we begin with short description of the phone, we want to make sure you know everything about this Company.

Infinix was founded in 2013 in Hong Kong, with few initial releases in China. Infinix has now expanded to about 60 countries. Infinix is known for its XOS operating system that’s based on Android. It has its manufacturing unit in China. Today Inifinix launched its first set  of smartphones in India i.e Infinix Note 4  and Infinix Hot 4 Pro. Available on Flipkart during Flash Sale, these smartphones received lukewarm response during first sale.

INFINIX NOTE 4

Infinix Note 4 is available for Rs 8,999. The phone has glossy metallic finish instead of a metal body. It has 5.7 inch Full HD display with 2.5D glass that gives a stunning look. We would have been more delighted if Infinix used metal in the design. The phone has 3.5 mm jack on the top. At the bottom speaker a USB charging port is present. At the rear there’s 13 MP camera with single tone LED flash. On the right side power and volume rocker keys are present. Coming to the front portion, there’s an 8 MP front facing camera which also has LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is mounted under the home button.

The phone has a huge 4300 mAh battery which is much needed to power this beast. The phone is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of storage with the option to expand via MicroSD slot(128  GB). The phone runs on XOS which is Infinix’s own custom UI based on Android 7.0. Its a true dual SIM phone which supports VoLTE as well as ViLTE. The phone has G-sensor, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Compass Sensor, Gryo Sensor and even a Hall Sensor.

INFINIX HOT 4 PRO

Moving onto Infinx’s next release, we have Infinix Hot 4 Pro. Priced at Rs 7,499, this phone directly competes with Coolpad Note 5 Lite, Redmi 4 and Panasonic P85. Hot 4 Pro has all plastic body. It has 3.5mm jack on the top, USB charging port at the bottom and Volume and power buttons on the right. The company has stressed a lot on the capability of the speakers. The phone has Dirac-powered stereo surround speakers on the back. The fingerprint sensor is mounted under the rear camera. Coming to the display, it has 5.5 inch HD display. It has 4000 mAh non removable battery.

What’s shocking is that the phone runs on XOS that’s based on Android M. Its was really disappointing when we came to know about this. Hot 4 Pro is powered by Mediatek MT6737  which is a Quad Core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It has 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. External storage can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. The Hot 4 Pro has a 13-megapixel camera on the rear and 5-megapixel one on the front. It has dual SIM capabilities which supports 4G VoLTE and ViLTE. The phone seems to be heavy weighing at 170g.

Savvydroid’s Verdict:

Infinix is a new brand in our market, it will take some time for them to win peoples trust. Considering Hot 4 Pro, MT6737 is now outdated but this is not a deal breaker because it runs on Android M. It will be a cherry on the cake if Infinix provides OTA updates to Hot 4 Pro.

Note 4 might be the game changer as it has some serious specs. This can be an alternative for Redmi Note 4.
